20+ Spanish Language Courses in Spain near the beach or coast

spanish language courses in spain beach and coast

There are a wide variety of Spanish language courses in Spain that are located near beaches or in coastal regions. There is no better way than complete immersion in a country, culture, and language to facilitate your learning and retention of a language. And there is no better language to learn than Spanish! Did you know that more than 500 million people speak Spanish and it’s the second most widely spoken language on the planet?

Below is a list of Spanish language courses and schools, that will help you plan your beach-side language learning experience in Spain.  These schools are organized by region.

Please note, that schools in southern or island locations will tend to have the kinds of beaches and weather most people are looking for when they seek to travel to a ‘beach’ destination. While schools that are located in more northern regions or cool, green, coastal regions (such as Galicia or Basque Country) will have cooler weather, scenic coasts, and fewer ‘hang out and tan on the beach’ type beaches.

I love dramatic rocky coasts, cliffs, and cool, green, coastal regions where I can do more hiking than laying on the beach, so Galicia, Basque Country, and Asturias are my favorite regions in Spain. But my friends who are more into warm, dry, beachy places where people go specifically with the intent to hang out and lay on beaches or party by the beach (living the ‘beach lifestyle’) prefer the Andalucia or Barcelona coast, Mallorca, or the Grand Canary islands.

How much does it cost to study Spanish in Spain?

Before jumping into the search for the right region, city, and/or school where you’d like to study Spanish in Spain you may want to have a realistic sense of the approximate cost of Spanish language courses in Spain.

In my experience, the cost of courses can range widely from as low as $150/week (for fewer hours of classes per week) to $500+ per week (for more hours +accommodation included in some cases). However, the courses I’ve taken have cost between $200-$250/week in most cases and this has included 20+ hours of classes per week + the activities the school may offer that all students are welcome to participate in (trips to museums, cultural gatherings, etc.).

For accommodation, I’ve spent as little as $150-$200/week for a room in a family’s house or my own small apartment (booked either through the school or on Airbnb), and as much as $500/ week for a pensione (casual hotel) style accommodation.
