Inexpensive Gifts for Wine Lovers

champagne trucker hat

If you’re looking for a gift that a wine lover will appreciate but that doesn’t break the bank, the following list of inexpensive gifts for wine lovers should help you reclaim your inner gift-giving-ninja.

As a long time wine industry pro and wine drinker I can tell you that gifts do NOT need to be crazy expensive to be really good. Case in point, I use my inexpensive stainless steel travel wine glasses/travel wine tumblers more than most wine gadgets or accessory I’ve got in my house. I use them when I go camping, when I go to picnics or outdoor events, etc. I also use them at home when I want to sit with cocktails on the porch in warm weather, as they keep the ice frozen longer than regular cocktail glasses!

I also love this (not expensive) Champagne trucker hat (designed by my long time friend and wine industry cohort, Nicole) for hikes or days at the beach. *p.s. she’s got some some cool surfer wine lover and foodie/chef wine lover gear too

Your friends/family don’t care about whether something cost a lot, it’s all about the thought that went into the gift! And, it’s infinitely more creative to gift something like one of the below gifts for wine lovers than to simply show up with an expensive bottle of wine or bottles of wine.

Better idea? Purchase one of the below creative and unique gifts + an inexpensive bottle of wine that is really good and that even the most knowledgeable wine geek friend will like.

I’ve separated these recommendation by price-range: $79 and Under, $50 and Under, and $25 and Under. There are great options in all of these price-ranges!

An International Wine Club Subscription

This International Wine Club (by Gold Medal Wine Club)

This International wine club includes wines from around the world sourced from ‘hidden gem’ wineries. The wines are imported exclusively, so they aren’t wines that you’ll find in a chain store or at the supermarket.

Each box of wine includes three bottles, with information on each winery. There is also the option to add on gourmet food items from the featured region/country to each shipment by paying a small additional fee.

You do not have to sign up for a recurring subscription, you can simply order just one shipment (and you can specify that it’s a gift and have a gift card included) which costs $79 and includes shipping. You won’t be automatically billed or sucked into any commitment.

If you want to order an ongoing subscription that lasts a bit longer, you can choose what # of months you’d like to be shipped wines, and wines will be shipped to you only for that # of months.

A Gift Subscription to Gold Medal Wine Club

Gold Medal wine club is a wine club business that’s been around for over 25 years. They’ve got quite a few different wine clubs, but their Gold Wine Club is the most affordable. Wine Club shipments include 2 or 4 bottles (you choose) and feature different, mostly Californian (and 100% U.S.), wineries in every shipment.

You can opt for just 1 shipment or choose 3, 6, or 12 to set up a recurring wine club subscription. A wine club subscription is the kind of gift no one is ever disappointed to get.

Mermaid and Wine Hoodie

Do you know a mermaid who loves wine? This mermaid wine hoodie (designed by my friend Nicole who is both an amazing surfer and a long time wine industry professional) is super comfy and soft and is designed for women who love the ocean, ocean sports, and/or wine. She’s also got t-shirts and tank tops with mermaid/wine themed designs.

All of Nicole’s products are made in the U.S. so her price-points are a tad higher than some other designers on Etsy but you can feel good about where the material was sourced (and who did the work). She also donates a small % of proceeds to charity.

‘Main Contain Wine’ Sweatshirt

This super cute, soft, relaxed fit sweatshirt comes in about six different colors. I think the message says it all. There are a lot of days of my life where I could wear this and cross out the ‘May’ and add an ‘s’ to contain and it would be more accurate.

I think this is a fun gift idea for a sister, friend, cousin (I know my cousin would rock this every day til it falls apart) mom…

‘Pop Pop Pop!’ Champagne Trucker Hat

This comfy and cute ‘Pop pop pop!’ trucker hat is a fun gift for a friend who loves bubbly and likes to be casual. I’m not a big ballcap person myself, but my friend Nicole (who designs and sells these) got me one of these and I actually have ended up wearing it quite a bit when I go to the beach or to the park just to hang (helps block the sun while not making my head sweaty-thanks to the mesh), when I pop out for coffee in the morning (combined with a pair of large sunglasses), etc.

I give it two thumbs up.

‘This Might Be Wine’ Travel Coffee Mug/Travel Wine Mug

I love this mug for when you want to keep your coworkers or campsite neighbors guessing. I think this is such a perfect stocking stuffer or gift for someone who loves wine and coffee as it works equally well as a travel wine mug and a travel coffee cup (saving the planet and winning at gifting-score!)

Single Bottle Champagne or Wine Chiller Bags

There is no faster way to chill a bottle of wine than to put it in a small container with some ice and a little water. These single bottle wine and champagne chiller bags are so handy and stylish that even wine bars and restaurants use them now.

I LOVE these for quickly chilling wine both when traveling or at an outdoor event as well as just for those situations where you’ve got a bottle of bubbly or wine that isn’t chilled yet but that needs to be cold and you just do not have the patience to wait for an hour while it chills in the fridge. 20 minutes in one of these bags and you are sipping nice, cold wine or bubbles!
