These five Sonoma and Marin County gluten-free bakeries all offer the opportunity to buy their breads and other goodies direct (ie not through a third party retailer). It’s a tough business being an independent gluten-free bakery, so let’s try to support these guys and help them keep making their amazingly delicious gluten-free products!
Bump City Gluten Free Bakery in Petaluma – CLOSED AS OF December 2018
Sadly, this amazing bakery has recently shut its doors to the public. Such a tragedy because their gluten-free scones and boozy gourmet cupcakes were TO DIE FOR. I hope we’ll see a new venture from Emily soon.
Grindstone Bakery in Rohnert Park
Grindstone bakes up hearty and wholesome gluten-free breads from 100% stone-ground grains. No preservatives or gums, just grains. They do also make breads that aren’t gluten-free but they have two separate facilities for the baking. They are open to the public Friday-Sunday.

Mama Mel’s Gluten-Free Bakery in Petaluma
You can’t visit this Petaluma bakery but you can order their bread online or get on their email list to keep up to date with their baking schedule and pre-order bread to pick up at various local pick-up points, where you can select your product and pick-up point. Or, you can visit Melissa (Mama Mel herself) at one of the local farmers’ markets she has a booth at.
Mama Mel’s bakes up sooooo many rarely seen gluten-free specialties! Crusty gluten-free bagels, gluten-free sourdough boules, baguettes, croissants and more…

Flour Craft gluten-free bakery has two locations in Marin County-one in Mill Valley and one in San Anselmo.

Flour Chylde is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday. You can also find them at the San Rafael Farmer’s Market at the Civic Center on Sundays.
